Thesis Title
An inquiry into the uses of digital technologies for social service provision and the changing topology of governance.

Research Description
Berwyn’s research explores the changing topology of governance in the area of social service provision brought about by the operations of state-developed digital networked management systems and automated solutions in Singapore. Specifically, it studies how digital applications articulate a shift within the public sector that is agreeable to bureaucratic formalities characterised by the hybridisation of contemporary digital features and technocratic processes of government. The paper subsequently tracks emergent social formalities that entail from these procedures and articulations.
