Hack Teams Session 01
Introduction to hackathon structure, challenges and mentors. Discussion of the Hackathon prompts and of the pitch format.

Online advertising data is multimodal and multifaceted, it regularly combines text, images, videos, with temporal and targeting data. Analysing advertising data at scale therefore presents challenges for researchers, from obtaining ads at whole-of platform scale, through to curation of ads relating to specific events or themes, but also for downstream analysis of the ad contents themselves. In this presentation we outline a range of computational and analytical tools we have developed to assist in the analysis of online advertising. Much of this is work in progress and we hope this may open up possibilities for ongoing development and inquiry by participants.
