Date 20 January 2023
Enrolments are now open for the Australian Centre for Contemporary Art’s (ACCA) Data Relations Summer School, taking place on Thursday 16 February to Monday 20 February 2023 (excluding Sunday 19 February) in Melbourne.
Data Relations is an exhibition at ACCA Melbourne, running until 19 March 2023. Featuring a new installation by ADM+S Associate Investigator Dr Joel Stern, alongside collaborators James Parker and Sean Dockray, the exhibition includes works by Australian and international artists critically and speculatively engaging with the ways in which technologies, politics and aesthetics of data transform our relationships with one another and society.
Taking the exhibition as a point of departure, the Data Relations Summer School will involve a series of experimental workshops, discussions, performances, and talks, with an emphasis on critical pedagogy and the sharing of ideas. Presenters and participants will come together to respond to critical and creative approaches to questions regarding data relations.
Artists, researchers, students, writers, critics and enthusiasts interested in data relations are encouraged to participate in the Summer School by submitting an expression of interest (EOI). EOIs close Monday 30 January 2023 at 5pm.
