LOUP CELLARD

Dr Loup Cellard is an Affiliate of the ARC Centre of Excellence for Automated Decision-Making & Society (ADM+S) from the University of Melbourne.

Loup Cellard is an ethnographer and design researcher working in the  tradition of science & technology studies (STS) and materialist  approaches to media studies. His research focused on the environmental implications of algorithms, data  centres and telecommunication subsea cables. He worked at the ADM+S Centre (Melbourne Law School) as a Postdoctoral  research fellow studying the ecological impacts and regulation of  Automated Decision-Makings between June 2021 and August 2023, and will continue in the future to contribute to the Centre activities on this topic.

Starting in September 2023, he is now researcher at the French cooperative Datactivist where he is helping organisations explaining and documenting their algorithms.
