MADELEINE STIRLING

Madeleine Stirling is a Research Assistant at the Melbourne University node of the ARC Centre of Excellence for Automated Decision-Making & Society (ADM+S).

Madeleine is a lawyer with a background in marketing and communications. She holds a Bachelor of Marketing and Media from Macquarie University and a Bachelor of Law with honours from Queensland University of Technology.

She has worked on various projects investigating the regulation of search engines, social media platforms and other digital spaces, looking at how the law can help in countering the discrimination and inequality that arises online.

With industry experience designing and executing digital advertising campaigns, she focuses her research on platform governance and the algorithmic and digital advertising practices of platforms, with an interest in food marketing.
