DR MICHELLE RIEDLINGER

Dr Michelle Riedlinger is an Affiliate of the ARC Centre of Excellence for Automated Decision-Making & Society (ADM+S) from the Queensland University of Technology.

She is a Chief Investigator in the Digital Media Research Centre at the Queensland University of Technology.

Her research focusses on the knowledge making practices of individuals and organisations in online environments. She is particularly interested in knowledge work related to environmental and health decision making.

She has published research on emerging health and environmental research communication practices, negotiating scientific uncertainty and risk online, and roles for “alternative” science communicators and online advocates. She is a co-editor of the book, Science Communication: A Global Perspective.

She is investigating the activities of fact checkers in regions outside of North America and Europe associated with health research claims. In particular, this research focusses on fact checking practices related to identifying and verifying claims and creating and disseminating fact checked Covid-19 vaccine content.
