Dr Aditya Joshi is an Affiliate of the ARC Centre of Excellence for Automated Decision-Making & Society (ADM+S) from the University of New South Wales. 

He is a lecturer in natural language processing (NLP) at the school of CSE at UNSW. Prior to joining UNSW, he worked on bidirectional recommendation for online employment marketplaces as a data scientist at SEEK. During his postdoc at CSIRO Data61, Dr Joshi worked on social media-based epidemic intelligence. His PhD thesis was titled ‘Investigations in computational sarcasm’, and published as a monograph by Springer Nature. He has also worked for startups in Australia and India.  

Based on past work in several aspects of NLP (sentiment, sarcasm and bias detection), Dr Joshi looks forward to collaborating with researchers on the Machines program as an Affiliate at the ADM+S Centre.
