ALISHA APRILIA
Alisha Aprilia is an Affiliate of the the ARC Centre of Excellence for Automated Decision-Making & Society (ADM+S) from UQ.
Alisha is a PhD student in the School of Communication and Arts at the University of Queensland, where she also completed a Master of Entrepreneurship and Innovation. Her undergraduate degree is in Psychology from Atma Jaya Catholic University of Indonesia. Before her PhD, she spent over seven years in product marketing and commercial strategy, designing and running platform products across Southeast Asia, Hong Kong and China.
Her research looks at algorithmic governance and data infrastructure in gig work, and asks what a platform’s systems record and what they leave out. She is interested in why that risk is not visible in the platform’s data, and what that means for how these systems are designed.
Aside from her professional and academic work, Alisha is also a violinist who played in a youth orchestra, entered competitions, and worked with musicians in Japan and Europe. She now loves finding new music.
