DAN TRAN

Dan Tran is a Software Developer at the University of Queensland node of the ARC Centre of Excellence for Automated Decision-Making & Society (ADM+S).

As a recipient of the QUT Medal for Academic Excellence in the 2023 Bachelor’s cohort, Dan possesses a strong academic background in Computer Science and Applied Mathematics. Additionally, Dan has participated in research projects in Bayesian Statistics and Machine Learning through two vacation research scholarships at QUT and the Australian Mathematical Sciences Institute (AMSI) during his studies.

With a focus on Programming and Software Development, Dan was employed by the Queensland University of Technology (QUT) and applied his skills to develop multiple software applications to support students and staff. He has also been involved in teaching several Mathematics and Programming units in Bachelor’s courses and was trusted to develop learning materials serving thousands of students annually. Dan has a keen interest in applying digital technologies to support the learning and teaching of Science, Information Technology, and Mathematics.

Embarking on his early career journey post-graduation, Dan hopes to further expand his skill set in software design and development, data modeling and processing, and communication and problem-solving in general.

Outside of his professional life, Dan enjoys cooking and dining with his family and playing video games, especially retro-style ones.
