Dr Kieran Hegarty is an Affiliate of the the ARC Centre of Excellence for Automated Decision-Making & Society (ADM+S) from Deakin University.
Dr Kieran Hegarty is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in the School of Humanities and Social Sciences at Deakin University. Kieran’s research focuses on how the expansion of the web, the rise of commercial social media platforms, and processes of automation are reshaping the cultural and social roles of libraries, archives, and museums.
Before joining Deakin, he was a Research Fellow at the RMIT node of the ADM+S where he was involved in several major national projects examining the social geography of internet access and use across Australia. Kieran’s research has been published in New Media & Society, Information, Communication & Society, the International Journal of Cultural Policy, and Internet Histories.
