DR TARIQ CHOUCAIR
Dr Tariq Choucair is an Affiliate of the ARC Centre of Excellence for Automated Decision-Making and Society from QUT.
Tariq is a postdoc researcher dedicated to understanding and finding solutions for deep disagreements and political polarisation. As a transmasculine from Brazil, he investigates the communicational features of political divisions that undermine the rights of oppressed and marginalised political minorities.
Tariq’s scientific background is in communication studies and political science, combined with a love for creative interactions with computational methods.
Tariq has published his work at the journals Information, Communication & Society, Political Studies, The International Journal of Communication, and Political Research Exchange, among other brazilian journals.
He is a co-author of the book The Deliberative System and Interconnected Media in Times of Uncertainty (Palgrave Macmillan) and a contributor to Research Methods in Deliberative Democracy (Oxford University Press).
