Dr Glenn Finau
Dr Glenn Finau is an Affiliate of the ARC Centre of Excellence for Automated Decision-Making & Society (ADM+S) from the University of Tasmania.
Dr Glenn Finau is an Indigenous Fijian scholar and Senior Lecturer in Accounting and Information Systems at the University of Tasmania. His research examines the social, cultural, and governance implications of digital technologies across Pacific Island countries, drawing on critical accounting and information systems perspectives. Glenn’s work has primarily explored the role of social media in shaping accountability, community engagement, identity, and governance in the Pacific.
More recently, his research has expanded to investigate the opportunities and challenges associated with emerging technologies, including digital finance, blockchain, artificial intelligence, and data-driven decision-making in Pacific contexts.
Through research, teaching, and consultancy engagements with governments, international organisations, and communities across the region, he contributes Indigenous and Pacific perspectives to debates on technology, society, and development.
