JACKIE LEACH SCULLY

Prof Jackie Leach Scully is a Chief Investigator at the University of New South Wales node of the ARC Centre of Excellence for Automated Decision-Making & Society (ADM+S).

Jackie Leach Scully is Professor of Bioethics, and Director of the Disability Innovation Institute, at the University of New South Wales.

With a first degree in biochemistry and a PhD in molecular pathology, she spent some years in laboratory neurobiological research before migrating towards the socioethical implications of science innovation.

Since then she has published across a range of bioethical areas including genetics and epigenetics, reproductive technologies, neuroscience, data ethics, and disasters and health emergencies, generally taking an empirical approach and influenced by feminist theory.

Her overarching research interest follows the socioethical response of various publics to technological innovation, with a particular focus on people with disability and other marginalised communities.
