PHILIP GILLINGHAM

Dr Philip Gillingham is an Associate Investigator at the University of Queensland node of the ARC Centre of Excellence for Automated Decision-Making & Society (ADM+S).

Dr Philip Gillingham practiced as a qualified social worker for 16 years before becoming an academic in 2004.

He moved to the University of Queensland in 2011 and received an ARC Discovery Early Career Research Award (2013-15) and subsequently an ARC Future Fellowship (2017-21).

The focus of his research has been the improvement electronic information systems in social welfare agencies.

With the advent of big data, he has increasingly focused on automated and supported decision-making.

Dr Gillingham holds a 0.2 FTE position as a Senior Research Fellow at the ADM+S Centre’s University of Queensland node.

At the end of the Future Fellowship (July 2021), Dr Gillingham will be available for hire across the Centre of Excellence.
