Dr Shirley Xue Chen is a Research Fellow at the Monash University node of the ARC Centre of Excellence for Automated Decision Making and Society (ADM+S).

Shirley is a feminist cultural studies scholar whose research examines the affective contours of popular politics, popular feminism and digital culture. They are particularly interested in how media users and audiences negotiate and conceptualise democratic values via popular culture.
