The Australian Government aspires to lead the world in digital innovation. This ambition is reflected in the digitalisation of public services, including the introduction of algorithms in disability support planning. While the promise is one of greater efficiency through automation, the reality is far more complex.

Meet Mark, Marie, Erin, Paris, Olisama, Paul, and Kaili—seven people whose lives have been profoundly affected by these technological changes. Their stories reveal how rigid algorithms struggle to adapt to the diverse and unique needs of people with disability, exposing the human costs of technological innovation.
