Copyright is having its data privacy moment. The growing AI infrastructure requires access to millions of copyrighted works, mining creative works not for their expressive purpose but for their data value. This lecture explores how privacy law has addressed the datafication of user information and considers the lessons this may hold for copyright law, which has struggled to grapple with the datafication of creativity.
